EWORD IN the design of modern high school life there are two elements: everyday events and the traditions and standards which lie behind them. In this, the 1942 Polar Bear, We try to reflect something of both. This reflec- tion is of more than usual interest because of the changes brought about in our way of lite by the War. Probably never again will High- land Park see a school year as kaleidoscopic as this. Here, then, is a glimpse of life as it was at Highland Park from September '41 to Iune '42.
