Orientation Assembly At the beginning of each year, the up- perclassmen gather to initiate innocent freshmen into the mv terious rites of the school's organizations. This fall's ritual, other- wise known as the Orientation Assembly, was held on September 14. Each club pre- sented a skit in order to acquaint Frosh with school activities, and to attract new members. With the aid of various incanta- tions, usually called songs, the program gave HPHS newcomers a genial glimpse of the school’s crafty underground. Tho Garrick pyramid find omofhing dramatic attracting it at- tontion. Harry Bouras approaches hi lecture with a creative attitude. It’s Academic! Star Lectures In an effort to educate the seniors culturally, the Star Lecture Series was inaugurated this year by tho new administration. Several programs, dealing with fine arts, wore pre- sented for the Senior Class by load- ing artists in the area. Harry Bouras. sculptor, began the Series with a lecture on creativity. Other presen- tations included a cutting from the play Until the Monkey Comes, staged by the Hull House Actors, a lecture on Modern Dance Form by Carol Russell and Shirley Genthor, a recital by the Washington University Choir, and a talk on Scene at Mind 60's by Franz Sculzy, Daily News art critic. For the first time in Highland Park's history, the school entored competition on tho television show, It's Acadomic. Tho members of the'victorious It's Epidemic team were: Chuck Dawo. Lance Rodgers and Mark Lavin. Alternates were: Marcy Barack, Rick Grossman and Richard Kanter.
