This i the cast who made such a wonderful success of Oklahoma!” On March 16 the music department sponsored “Oklahoma.” Both the choruses and orchestra took part in the program. “Oklahoma” was a hard program to produce but through the efforts of many people it was a smash hit all over again. Some of the “Oklahoma” dancers were Joan Lapinr, Dale Manowitz. Joy Reznick. Debbie Bolton. Barb Sleypan. Connie Lunardi, Nancy Stewart, and Alice Juul. Ann Lindsey, who played Laurie, and Bowen Schumacher, playing Curly, seem happy because of “Oka- hornaV' success at HPHS. Jeanne Kurtzon and Dave Seltzer played Ado Anne and Will. Senior couples take a breather from dancing at their “Basin Street Bounce.' Who canned you. Dion?! A Date In Dixieland Nancy Merrell and Leon Ward look on as Sandy Heins pins a name tag on Steve Morton at the “Basin Street Bounce. Dig this crazy dance! Perhaps the jazziest dance this year was the Basin Street Bounce” which was sjxmsored by the 1957 senior class. The date was February 2. the time 9 o’clock, the place the Bow gym. All the crazy cats bopped to the music of Ray Pond's Band. Many thanks were due to Mrs. Handberg and Mr. Broming, senior class sponsors: and to Barb Partlow, senior class social chairman. Goofin’ off as usual that is what Mr. Munski. publications adviser, usually says about the Shoreline staff and it seems to be true. This year Shoreline has strived toward a better school paper. The class columns were removed and replaced by better feature material which was the first big step in the right direction. Shore- line had three special issues the year ... a Christmas issue printed with red and green ink, an April Fools issue with take offs on the regular columns and an election issue in coordination with the Student Council. The paper is published once every two weeks and eighteen issues were published during the year, with the first issue coming out the first day of school. Page 14
