But the tall spirit at HP expressed in a myriad ot school events, did not end' with October. October tound the Scots in tootball season and all the accompanying activi- ties: pep rallies, spirit posters, and Beat Garland week. Spirited student support backed the Scots, the team predicted to talce district title, its tirst in several years. Though tootball toolc the limelight, many other activities retlected the wide range ot interests among students. College Night brought out-ot-state as well as state college representatives under one root tor the convenience ot PERFORMING FOR THE student body, Lisa Har- mon sings a solo at the Patriotic Assembly. DOUG GARNER SPELLS out his spirit with an ar tistic touch tor the big Wichita Falls game. HP's college-bound students in selection ot an alma mater. Senior Kathe Young recounted the unique experiences ot her summer in the Philippines via the American Field Ser- vices program in two assemblies. Cheerleader Georgia Ann Fry won the lvliss Flame title voted by the Student Council to a specially-nominated senior girl. She represented the University Park Fire,Department in turther competition. Students were soon to be star-gazing at HP's newest addition, the planetarium, under the direction ot lvlrs. Jean Henry and due to open in October.
