foreword We have a companion as we look through our HIGHLANDER and reminisce about the good times we have had this year. His name is Sandy MacTavish. Sandy, though a purely mythical character, is as real as any wide-eyed sophomore or sophisticated senior because he is a representative of all of them. He is a star athlete and a mere manager, an A+ student and barely passing, a favorite and just one of the boys. He is all these and more. we dedicate.... This year the seniors have chosen to dedicate their HIGHLANDER to a woman who for the past ten years has been the friend of every student with who she has come in contact. She came to Highland Park in the fall of 1945 to teach English and history. Because of her unselfish and genuine interest in her students she has become one of the most well-liked members of the faculty. It is with greatest affection that we dedicate the 1955 HIGHLANDER to MISS GLADYS SITZ. Page Five
