Coach McKnight makes an emphatic point to Scott Jordan in an early season game, I EAGLE FOOTBALLERS ARE FULL OF KICKS The Eagle varsity played six games in this year's schedule, They beat Bellevue, Hyak, and Ringdall, tied Tyee and Tilli- cum, and lost to Chinook, thus ending the season in a tie for second place in the Bellevue League, Walt Ewing, coach, said, The team had a good attitude and played to their ability, The 1970 IV 's won three of six games played, finishing fourth in the League, They beat Tyee, Ringdall, and Tillicum, lost to Bellevue, Chinook, and Hyak. Floyd Hall, IV coach, said the team improved tremendously during the season, ABOVE: The Varsity rests from its 1971 season, which saw three wins, two ties, and one defeat, LEFTg Quarterback Kemp gets set to give the ball to Johnson. JV HOOP SQUAD BOUNCES Great season was the word for both Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball teams this year. The Varsity tied for third spot in the League, with a four win - three loss record, The JV's brought in a tie for first with a five win - one loss total, Varsity Coach Wittman said he had coached a good team which was fairly steady in what they did during the season, Steve Benjamin led the scoring for the Varsity, while JV hotshots were Mark Runyon and Keith Nelson. In pre-season games, the Varsity won three and lost one, The JV's had a four-one record, TOP: Kemp leaps for a re- bound in the Odle game, BELOW: Benjamin goes up for a jump shot in the game with Tyee, Coach Wittman and his 1971 Eagles had a satisfying sea- son, But the JV's, BELOW, and Coach Dunn ended up accepting congratulations on a championship tie.
