ABOVE: Highlanders sing for school assembly, The group dis- banded later this year, RIGHT: The Lassies, with their Bonnie Charlie theme song, are a tra- dition at Highland, BELOW: Director Davis, CHORUSES SING UP STORM Highland 's singer sang up a storm this year, The choruses appeared at the winter and spring concerts, and the All-Bellevue Junior High Chorus Festival, Their elementary school tour took them to Ardmore, Ivanhoe, Sherwood Forest, and Stevenson, Highland feeder schools, The seventh grade Girls Chorus performed in blue maxis, which they rnade themselves, singing three-part arrangements of Let It Be, and Leavin' on a Jet Plane, The Highlanders and Lassies performed for class dinners and sang in the All-District En- semble Festival in May. They held a joint rehearsal with Interlake's Kantorians, At Christ- mas the two groups caroled in their neighborhoods and entertained at a retirement home, Page 58 The Girls Chorus, featuring seventh grade girls, provides early training for girls interested in going on into Mixed Chorus and Lassies. Mr. Davis directs these groups. The Girls Chorus is shown at right.
