Seniors . . . Proud of the Past - Eager for the Future. As we the class of 56 go forward into the world, our memorable days at Highland will never be for- gotten. From the time we entered as grass-green Freshmen until we were mellow Seniors and received our diplomas, we have enjoyed our days at H.H.S. We will not forget our Freshman initiation or the good fight we put up in the Mr. and Miss Tycoma contest for our candidates, Hilda Curtis and jim Cline. Christmas in the Forest, our first formal, was a big thrill for all as was the spring formal, Singing in the Rain. Then as Sophomores we got our revenge in the initiation. After a day of being Almighty Sopho- mores, we treated the Freshmen to a party and dance. Betty Griffith, our Miss Tycoma candidate, came in second this year. juniors! We felt more worthwhile because we were upper classmen now. Donna Melton represented a hard-working and proud class when she won the Miss Tycoma contest. Under the Sea was the theme for the junior-Senior Banquet and Prom which was a real success. Custer's Last Stand, the junior Class Play helped finance the Prom and Banquet. In our fourth year, the climax of high school, we were all looking forward to graduation and planning what we were going to do afterward. The Senior Class Play, Time Out for Ginger, the proceeds of which went to buy a gift for the school, was a great success. After a triumphant football season, Pamela Nelson and Sylvia Benner represented the Senior Class as Homecoming candidates. We all shared the honor when Pamela was crowned Princess. Pamela Nelson also represented us as our Miss Tycoma candidate, to bring home the honor for a second time for our class as Miss Tycoma.
