En: This year the junior journalism class, under the supervision of Mr. Ralph Thomas, succeeded in putting out nine issues of Highland Hi-Lites. Demonstrations were given and many varieties of color were used in both paper and ink. The class, con- sisting of 24 students, found that putting out a paper is as enjoyable as it is educa- tional. The staff was divided up into co-editors of each separate page, each choosing his own page. Shirley Connelly acted as editor and Marlene Bline as Assistant Editor. Along with the regular duties of the class, there were several occasions when special one page issues and programs for games were turned out. This year there was an advertising page added to the paper. With the funds procured from this, many new pieces of equipment were bought which enabled the class to do a bigger and better job. Teamwork was stressed by the Seniors in editing the Highland Hi-Lites. A larger than average journalism class was divided in half, making two separate paper staffs, each staff publishing an issue bi-monthly. A familiar sight on Friday afternoons was tht of some staff member rushing to meet a deadline, cutting headlines, doing art work, or running the mimeograph. These are just a few examples of what makes working on the Hi-Lites an interesting job. Qu' 1 S P O I ,,j5 KI! r v
