The Rod and Gun Club spend Iheir weekends target practicing, hunting, fishing, and camping. The camping trips during the winter help members learn survival techniques. Members of the Rod and Gun Club also take classes to get their Hunter Safety Permits. The sponsor of the club is Mr. E«ig. The Rod and Gun Club members are Guy Sandy. Eddy Scofield. Rob White. Alan Martinez. John Martinez. Andy Conley. Ben Daughtey. Tim Wasem. Vince Burns. O joy suffering! To struggle against odds! to meet enemies undaunted! To be entirely alone with them! to find how much one can stand! To look strife, torture, death, face to face! To advance to the muzzles of guns with perfect nonchalance! To be indeed a member of the Rod S Gun club! For those who will fight bravely and not yield, there is triumphant victory over all the dark things of life. If this were my last day I'm almost sure I'd spend it walking in the woods. Would dig about the little plants, and try To make them happy, so they would endure Long after me. Then I would hide secure Where the green arbor shades me from the sky. And watch how bird and bee and butterfly Came hovering to every flowery lure. Then, as I rested, perhaps a friend or two. Lovers of flowers would came, and we would walk About the secret paths and talk Of Peaceful times when all the world seemed true. This may be my last day. for all I know; What a temptation just to spend it so! O

Everett. I. Patterson Due to the lack of snow in November and December, the 1980 Ski Club has yet to ski the slopes of the Rocky Mountain ski resorts. The weather has hampered much of the Ski Clubs skiing for the last two months and this may continue through January. 140

The students in drama are constantly creating and inventing different types of skits, plays, and comedy routines. Their most recent production is a commercial, under the direction of Mr. Edmondson. It will be released during the variety show sometime in February. The young actors-to-be say. It is a great challenge to be in this class. It also gets us out of the every day class routine. This class requires skill, lots of imagination, and creativity. Mr. Edmondson helps these students work toward their dream ViYIfe 142
