sm secaoot ,rwm ui Tf r 'Pillar of Fire.’ One can explain it as the drama of a sympathetic madman enveloped and finally destroyed by his obsession. Lantry is pure paranoia. He is like a whole library run amok because it knows, and we know, that unless it runs fast with Lantry’s legs, it will be put to the torch and carried off in smoke. Lantry s family is all of the dark bright. lovely horrible books ever written. If he had any childhood at all. he was Quasimodo, age three. If he had middle years, they were Jeckel and Hyde. If he ever loved, it was behind the mask of the Phantom of the Opera in Paris.” There were over two hundred hours spent on preparing for the special effects in this play. The cast spent six weeks rehearsing the production. Mr. Edmondson felt that not having a teaser really hurt the attendance of the play.
