VOC ED m' The voc ed building is no longer the no man s land next to the school and is now a natural part of the school system. The vo ed teachers are Mr. Geske. who teaches wood and drafting: Mr. Hoover, who teaches the auto tech classes: and Mr. Walters. who teaches the metals and electricity classes. The new kid on the block is Mr. Tate, who teaches drafting I and metals I. The vocational educational program can be a big step towards a career, and the classes are excellant. DESIGNERS The Home Economics program consists of several classes that range from cooking, sewing, to learning how to be the perfect parent. Three women teachers have dared to take on these classes. Mrs. Hiebert teaches foods, parenting and single living. Ms. Welch helps students learn to sew clothing, organize a family, and decorate a home. Ms. Vegas worries about survival amidst the burning smells of foods. Pictured on this page: Carol Windholz. Juliane Andrew 122

One wading a Fall meadow finds on al sides The Queen Anne's Lace lying like lilies On water: it glides So from the water, it turns Dry grass to a lake, as the slightest shade of you Valleys my mind in fabulous blue Lucernes. The beautiful changes as a forest is changed By a chameleon’s tuning his skin to it; As a mantis, arranged On a green leaf, grows Into it. makes the leaf leafier, and proves Any greenness is deeper than anyone knows. Your hands hold roses always in a way that says They are not only yours: the beautiful changes In such kind ways. Wishing ever to sunder Things and things' selves for a second finding, to lose For a moment all that it touches back ro wonder. Richard Wilbur % © 124
