The track team had the best season in Highland's history. They had a dual record of 5 wins and 2 losses, finished second and third in their two triangle meets, and came in second of four in the Twilight League. Seven records were broken this year, with I.. Metzger setting both the 120 high hurdles and 180 low hurdles, with times of 16.2 and 22.2 respectively. The 880 relay team set a new record of 1:39. The team consisted of R. Weaver, C. Adkins, J. West- brook, and L. Metzger. R. Weaver cleared 5'9 in the high jump, while M. Beck set records of 52.9 seconds in the 440 and 23.2 in the 220. M. O'Quin set a new record of 44 ft. 4 in. in the shot. 31 points were scored in the sectional, which is more than all the previous years put together, Coach Kurtz fills in the team on what event each member will be running. -2 Season, Best Yr. A first for Highland was the high- steppers' performances at two football games - Homecoming and Marion Catholic. They got underway for basket- ball season doing routines to Franken- stein, Rockin' Robin, The Enter- tainer, and Varsity Drag. Money-making projects to buy new pom-poms included making and selling basketball buttons with slogans, and sponsoring a basketball raffle. Drill Team - FRONT ROW: Capt. J. Hoffman, L. Lehman, K.
