Of the 8 games they lost, 3 were by a touch- down or less. The Knights of Northmor battled the Scots for Highland's only tie. Although Cardington was the team's only win, the Scots played stingy defense throughout the season, holding each opponent to a lesser score than the previous year. Highlights on offense were Joe Porter's clutch receptions, Mike Beck's 4 T.D.'s, and top ground gainer Mike Martin's rushing yardage. On defense, Mike O'Quin led the team in tackles along with receiving the most valuable defensive lineman award. HH - nl County Chapt. to Win Award of Merit The Highland Chapter of FHA was the only one to receive the Award of Merit in the county this year. Lee Ann Van Horn, Cheri McLain, and Patsy Spearman made up the committee. Special FHA awards were given to Darcy Gale and Lee Ann Van Horn who received their chapter degrees. Thirteen girls received theirjunior degrees, the largest group ever. l FHA hosted many activities this year. Some community ser- ' vice projects were babysitting for donors at the bloodniobile and l caroling at area rest homes. The girls also gave parties for the children at Mt. Vernon and Whetstone. Christmas activities con- sisted of sponsoring a white elephant exchange and decorating the tree in the lobby. The FHA'ers attended county rallies in Mt. Gilead and Carding- ton. They also went to a subregional meeting in Mt. Vernon and the state convention in Columbus. The Awards Banquet on May 9 highlighted the year. C, W, .k , V V, f J :,J. j .l fly .A Q t -t.. This requires reporting on a regular basis and meeting deadlines each week. The staff also prepares HHS news for local papers f THE SUNBURY NEWS, THE MORROW COUNTY SENTINEL, THE INDEPENDENT REGISTER, and THE MT. VERNON NEWS. Without their help, there would have been no yearbook. I would especially like to thank: V Mrs. Grimm, for all your time and effort. Without your advice, we wouldn't have a yearbook. Mr. Parks. for all your suggestions, help, and understanding. You helped us through many rough spots. My 7th period and after-school staffs deserve most of the credit. They took the time to sit down and do the pages. This yearbook is lilled with pages inspired by them. They were a really great staff! The photographers. for all oftheir work. They gave up alot oftheir time to take pictures ofafter-school activities, ' My darkroom workers, for all their developing and staying after-school when we were rushing for a deadline. A special thank-you to Candi Griffith for all of her help as business editor. I couIdn't have handled it by myself. Your help was greatly appreciated. Mr. Bowling and all the faculty, for letting me out ofclass and for all the interruptions. Photorama, for all ofyour time and many pictures. You're one ofthe main backbones in this yearbook.
