Throughout their season Scots fought see-saw battles with alot of pressure on the defense. A victorious win over Car- dington put HHS back in the spirit and they went on to defeat Lucus and ' Northmor. The downfall ofthe season let fum- bles and penalties during crucial plays cripple the Scots' offense. For the year Bob Myser averaged more than 11 yds. per pass. with Gregg Webb leading in reception yardage with 263 yds. Many games were close. At Fredericktown, the Scots won 48-47 in a real thriller. ln the Holiday Tourney, the Scots finished 3rd, beating Mt. Gilead in overtime. Statistics show a 56.8 ppg average for HHS and 58.7 ppg average for the opponents. The Sectional Tourney was a chance for another trophy to add to last year's title. Freshmen Post Highest Win Record in History Freshmen cagers began a prosperous season with a win over Centerburg. North Union was the first step to the league championship. After trailing Marion Catholic, the Scot frosh proved they never quit. They came back to win another league game. At Danville, the highest point total was reached, 66. The Ontario game was won at the buzzer by Jeff Jahn's field goal. Freder- icktown was the years only loss. After leading the whole game, the Scots had bad luck while the Freddies were hot. Blocked in by opposing players, Jeff Jahn gets off a shot. Exuberantly, Nlrs. Higgins extends her congratulations to Coach Sarr and Wayne Hinkle. The highlight of the year was the final game in the MOC Freshmen tourna- ment. The Scots worked hard for the win and lst place. Final record was 15-1, the best ever for a Scot team. Northmor and North Union reserve teams also fell to our wrestlers' skill and aggressiveness. Several wrestlers had winning records: Heavyweight Louie O'Quin, Dan Walker, Bill Keaton, and Wayne Mattox. Louie entered the section- als with a 10-O record. Louie was the first person from HHS to place in the sectionals when he took fifth. Another first was a home meet. This meet with Mansfield Christian was so close that it was decided in the last two matches. The end of the season was high- lighted by the purchase of new uni- forms and promise of a mat.
