Basketball The '68-'69 Fighting Scotts Head Coach, Gary Vaughng Assistant Coach, Marshall Glenn. 29 The fighting Scotts started the 68-69 season with a bang, defeating Danvill 57 to 47. Then after several setbacks, Highland rendered Big Walnut its first League loss, setting them out of first place contention. Midway Scotts were battling hard for 2nd place in the Mid-Ohio defeating Cardington in a hard fought Confer- ence battle. With only one returning letterman from the 1967-68 season, the Scotties gained much experience and sportsmanship though the record was 4 and 15.

S ., -all Words of Wisdom 28 The weather was hot when the season started making it difficult for players and fans alike. Then along with the weather the Scotts were plagued with injuries, centering around the Seniors. After dropping the first game with Fredericktown 48 to 10, the Scotties de- feated Olentangy 28--O. Then after 4 set- backs the fighting Scotts delivered a blast to Cardington 34 to 22. The next game was with our toughest rival, Marion Catholic. It was hard fought all the way with the score tied several times, then with an extra burst of effort, the Irish won 54--32. The final game of the season set a high scoring record for the school with 65 points to Ridgemount's 16. This was the game in which the Scotts could do no wrong. I it Gareth and John make the tackle.
