A ma Mafer There shines upon this nation a school mighty fair, Its loyal sons and daughters carry its banner everywhere. Highland, Highland, the pride of them all, Oh Highland, Highland, we will ever heed thy call. When sun and stars shine brighter on this fair earth so true, Their rays will point with glee to Highland’s lovely gold and blue. Highland, Highland, the pride of them all, Oh Highland, Highland, we will ever heed thy call. 3oreword Historians, and students of history alike, speak of history repeating itself, and cite the recurrence of events with much authority. The recorded word is not the sped arrow , shot in the great somewhere to n’er return; it is time ' s barometer by which men chart the paths to the stars, assay the impetus of today ' s footprints on the sands of time, ' and make, to a lesser degree, their moves on the chessboard of life. For twenty years, our predecessors here at Highland have sought to keep aglow this picture of our past, by recording the events of the present, and their work has not been in vain. We, like they, in publishing this, the twenty-first edition of the RAM, feel that the history of the year 1960-61 will serve to guide those who are to follow, to ever be a re¬ minder of this period of change, and to bring many moments of pleasure to those who lived it. If these ends are met, then the many collective hours of hard work that went into the preparation of this volume will have been profitably invested. We sincerely hope that this will be the best issue in a long uninterrupted series of ever-improving annual publications, and we are certain that it is the largest. . . . The Staff 2
