Freedom to learn eujoyably, freedom to express creatively, freedom to share our knowledge wisely freedom to lead others to freedom. But this freedom does not mean freedom from responsibility, from hardships in life, from duty to our fellow man. This freedom has been bought with a price, and it must be used like a precious gem. There is mental freedom in our foundation of ideas as Freshmen, in our sustaining of thoughts as Sophomores, and in our labors of expression as Juniors. Finally, this freedom is brought to bear in our recognition of mature, understanding Seniors. Through these four years we can truly see our purposes as free individuals. Through the high educational standards set for us, we leave treasuring our gifts of freedom ---- THE LEGACY or THE HIGHLANDER 1489 0122 . . 70 Znpaff. . . .... We remember you--as many classes of the past, present, and future, have remembered and will remember. We remember you as a gentle voice that van- quished our anxieties on that first important day of our lives. We remember you as a guiding hand that led us through the huge, and to us, terrifying school. You, Mrs. Hansel, first opened our young minds to the new and vast world of read- ing, writing, and numbers. Most important, you taught us the importance of working and playing together in our new social environment. We appreciate all that you have done that has helped us to gain and to achieve. It is to you, Mrs. SeybertHansel, that the Senior Class of 1967 proudly dedicates THE HIGHLANDER. 5 XKZFOUUJ fb f l 150 5 r 4 gays 5 f 4 J 1 4 The activities of Highland High School range from Jessie Bird being Santa Claus to Mrs. Samples being mother to an Anaconda. Naturally the theme carried out in the pictures show you the result of the many enjoyable hours spent touring our nation's capitol. The sad part of the trip was the thought that this would be our last trip together as a class. 1. Our bus driver, Mr. Curtis Amburn, added much to our trip. Right Mr. Tustin? 2. Hours and hours of touring the Smithsonian Institute resulted in rest and discussion about how many miles we had walked. 3. Carolyn is getting ready to meet Larry.
