Business Manager Anne Hevener . Editor Randy Hooke . . Subscription Manager w DEDICATION We, The Senior Class of 1966, dedicate this edition of the Highlander to Mr. Don Varner, for his many years of dedicated service to our school. Mr. Varner has faithfully served the Highland County School System for eleven years. It is to him that we owe tribute for the cleanliness and fine appearance of our school. Besides his many regular duties, Mr. Varner has found time to help with many of the activities around the school. Without his help several of the class and club projects would have been unsuccess¬ ful. To you, Mr. Varner, we extend our deepest appreciation for a school of which we can all be proud. ' . , ■ . 3! THE WHOLE IS EQUAL TO THE SUM OF ITS PARTS The above axiom, learned by many in the study of geometry, is the state¬ ment of a logical, universal concept that anyone could testify to as a practical truth. But the true meaning of this mathematical reality became clear only as the Senior Class of 1966 faced graduation. Then, we remembered the parts: students, faculty, classes, activities, and athletics; the whole: Highland High School. Each is separate and important. But we also remember another axiom, one that has influenced all of us during our years of high school-- The whole is GREATER than any of its parts.
