142 Shirley Daggs Donald Davis Mickey Davis Randall Dent Juanita Deters Brian Dickerson The big event in Mrs. Bowden's fifth grade class was when they took part in the Lewis County Conservation Poster Contest. Several members of the class were blue ribbon winners. The posters were displayed Friday evening, April 2, at Highland High School where the Lewis County Soil Conservation held its fish supper. The different sections of the country like the South Central, Northern, Midwest, and Eastern, have been studied. They have also studied the state capitals and the climates of the different sections. The fifth grade has also studied the continent of Asia along with their many other classes. The layers of the earth have been studied in the science class. They have concentrated on things like the soil and its contents. They also have learned about min- erals, marble, and fossils.
