This course was titled Remedial Math, and was financed under Title I of the Elemen- tary and Secondary Education Act. The school district had to meet certain require- ments set forth by the Missouri Department of Education in order to have the course. Mrs. Mary Ruth McConnell directed the pro- gram. Teacher's aide for the course was Miss Lynne Schweitzer. The purpose of the program was to help students to better understand and interpret mathematics . 111
