Granger, Ohio Volume XVI President Kennedy once said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.’ Bob Bowman did just this—he served his country by being in the military service. He was a young man who believed in free- dom. Bob gave his life so that we might live free. Al Hood served his country in another way, he went to work. He was always a happy person whom everyone knew. Even after his high school years he did not change. Robert Bowman Alan Hood ALMA MATER Oh, Highland High School now to thee, We sing our song of loyalty! We sing thy glory and thy fame, All praises to thy honored name. Come and join us while we sing, We'll make the near-by hillsides ring. Our faith in thee will never die, We'll always love thee, Highland High. FOREWORD The waves of time wash up on beaches And with the tide return Into the deep blue ocean The waves again return The sun it always reaches Into the waters still And memories of the tide Are found there at one’s will At Highland was an ocean Of knowledge to be learned Its depths were challenged daily By the students there within And time will wash away beaches As the sun at its brightest never could But let the tide never take from us The happiness we shared and could Forever more remember And always call our own Oh Highland High, You’ll always be with us In the knowledge in which we’ve grown 3 PERSONNEL and SERVICES 5 ACTIVITIES and SPECIAL EVENTS 18 SPORTS 46 STUDENT LIFE 58 UNDERCLASSMEN 64 SENIOR CLASS 76 COMMENCEMENT ACTIVITIES 88 ADVERTISING 93 HAMPS hamps, that’s what High’s football team in for the second year. Brett Reardon and Dave Zeile read the prophecy about the senior class. Charlette Johnson and Kirk Cobb read the senior class will. Everyone who attended the banquet enjoyed a delicious dinner. 44 “A VISIT TO NEPTUNE’S KINGDOM” Neptune’s kingdom set the scene for April 26, 1968. This was the day of the memorable Junior-Senior Prom. It started off with swimming at the Jewish | Center, putt-putt golf at Montrose, bowling and pool at Riviera Lanes, and a banquet at the Brown Derby. Then came the most mangifi- cent part of all, the dance. In the atmosphere of the ocean, the juniors and seniors danced to a great band. No one can describe the enjoyment and mem- ories which everyone has to remember from that night. Paulette Jackson and James Kerns enjoy some of the refreshments at the prom. Music and memories filled the air at the Junior-Senior Prom. FOOTBALL ’68 The 1967 Highland Football Squad: Front row: C. Peebles, K. Cobb, J. Winland. Third row: P. Holbart, P. Crocker, T.
