OUR SCHCDOL SCENE h 5 The pep meetings are the big event on the days of the games. This pep meeting we were honored with cheerleaders from an unknown community. They were very good though and their names were something like Mr. Gienke, Mr. Weber, and Mr. Crile. ACTIVITIES Highland High School students take part in many extra-curricular activities en- couraging citizenship, leadership, social ad- justment, ond service to the school. These pages remind us of the gay times we enjoyed along with many serious moments, Every girl has committed the Spring Prom's every detail to heart, but pictures refresh our memories. First we had an assembly sponsored by the Hi-Y. Rev. Bixler was our guest speak- er. Santa also visited us during the as- sembly. He brought humorous gifts for the faculty of which the students heartily approved. Then the students returned to their own home rooms where they had parties. The Queen and her Attendants are honored with a special dance. X CQNUNQ D 1957 Through the royal arch made by the Mojorettes, Solly is escorted by the co captains, Elwin Rickert and Gail Ruckel. The Queen's reign begins at half-time at the football game Friday night. She is driven to the football field in a beautiful convertible and escorted to the center of the field by the Co-Captains. There the crowning ceremonies take place and then the Queen is escorted back to her seat to watch the rest of the game. The next night she reigns over the dance. The crowning takes place at lO:OO. There she is crowned by her escort and then honored with the Queen's Dance. A wonderful night is had by all and this night will remain vivid in their memories.
