On January 20, 1981 the American hostages were released moments before Ronald Reagan took the oath of office. After fourteen j months of captivity, the hostages were led to free- FF dom with help from the Algerians, West Germans, am and American mediators. f The indecisions of the voters prevailed until the time of the election as the result was 4 undetermined until just before the election. The voters showed that they wanted a new approach to the crisis of the United States as Ronald Reagan won by a landslide over Jimmy Carter. V1 . 1 V1 Representing presidential candidates, Donald Robertson, Tim Hundsdorfer, and Tracy Frey participate in a mock debate as part of a government class project. V3 Voting in the mock election, Boyd Rinderer places his vote in the HHS elec- tion. Reagan won with 151 votes while Carter trailed with 58 votes and Anderson with 49 votes.
