The Hlghland Hugh School Band was reorganized under the dlrectnon of Mr E Paul Lyon who prevlously taught In Kentucky The band engaged In many actlvltues during the year Included among these were concerts which helped the Band Parents Assocnatlon to sponsor a trnp to Champasgn to see the famous Unuverslty of llllnols Band The trvp was thoroughly enjoyed by all and much hope was expressed for future trrps of thus sort Other Important actuvltles lncluded partzcupatnon by varnous members of the band rn a band cllnlc at Alton held durmg one of the fall teachers meetlngs In March the varlous sectson leaders youned sumnlar leaders from all over the country and partuclpated In the Madison County Band Festival The band galned much experlence and should perform much better next year as nt IS losing only three members In May The two major ensembles were called upon by the communrty at varlous times to perform ..
