Q The first step of the thriving community was to build a school that would accommodate the youngsters of this district. But with the growth of our town and dis trict, our school building has not grown. The once ade quate building has now become inadequate, and the future shows that we are in line for a new school, To this we added our efficient faculty, the instructors of our leaders of tomorrow. It was only through their con- tinued patience and understanding that we have attained our goal. Q This page is sponsored by O'Fallor1 Quality Dairy Company. You can't beat our milk, but you can whip our cream. 4 Burp! vs Win, lose, or draw-our faculty! Because all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, we energetically entered into sports and dramatics. The unique warblers of the high school crowd joined the Chorus. Last, but not least, we must mention that our school is only what it is today because of the untiring efforts of the Board and Parent-Teachers Association. Oh, yes, we mustn't forget the businessmen of this community, our advertisers, who help to make this year- book possible. It W0ll'f bite! its f mayb if L 'Q a l Alma Mater!

in-'ll lll Hllll A man's true honor lies in his works. To signify our respect and admiration for a man whose wisdom and devotion to his work have helped shape the future of HHS. students since 1942, we dedicate this, our 1951 Iris, to Mr. DeLaurenti. He has been untiring in his efforts to build not only a finer curriculum and establish high standards of moral and scholastic achieve- ments, but also to create a tradition of culture of which we and all alumni are extremely proud. Through his unceasing efforts, he has done much to bring about the consolidation of neighboring schools into a new unit, He now holds the position of superintendent over the Highland Community School Unit, District 5.
