We elected the following officers: Roger Shields, President: Eldo Duft, Vice-president: Bernell Bircher, Secretary: and Alfred Dubavh, Treasurer. Miss Drew and Mr. Geuther were our sponsors., During our first year we took a hike to Sain Hugs lake for a wiener roast. F Thirty-six of the forty-two lI'QSlllTl9ll returned for their sophomore year, The folfowing officers were elected: Virgil lberg, President: Eldo Duft, Vice-presidentg and Minette Fowler, Secretary-treasurer. Miss Suess was our class sponsor. l There are twenty-nine inenibers of the junior class. We elected Levi Flure, President: Alfred Dubach, Vice-presidentg and Leonard Pfeiffer, Secretary-treasurer. Every Friday we have a home room period, We have class meetings and educational activities, including talks, games and educational pictures. During the year we sponsored The Last Gentleman, a picture at the Opera House, and Oh! Susan, the junior class play. After spending three years in high school we are fully aware of what it is all about and will strive faithfully to reach our goal next year. As we near the end of this period of securing knowledge, we just begin to realize the importance of these school affairs, and how much they have ineunt to us. The Highland High School, within whose brick walls we have spent thees happy hours has amply served its purpose during the forty years of its existence, Next yeur this building is to be replaced by a modern combined grade and high school. We are quite sure that succeeding classes will profit by and admire the excellent opportunities otfered by the new school, and we are as proud to be the last gradu- ates from this aged school building as our grandparents we1'e to be the first. At the high school carnival, which was given for the beneiit of the Boys' .Xthle-tie Assoviatioii, the sophomores produced the feature known as tlhe Big lirozidt-ast. At this carnival, Dorothy Ellen Draper, our representative, was elected queen. i livery l-'ridziy we had a home room period of thirty minutes. Various com- mittees provided the programs for these meetings. These occasions produced a spirit of unity among us. ln sharp conirast to these happenings was the following of deep sadness wliieh we t-xperienr-ed at the death of one of our classinates, Wilbur Leduc. He has been greatly missed by :ill ot' us. It is our hope that we may all meet again next September as Juniors, and that ' we will he thoroughly conscious of the responsibilities which this coming year of our school life is sure to bring forth.
