BOOK TWO Every normal boy and girl is eager to take hold, to feel the joy of profitable effort, Even though some people are not obliged to earn their living, we will agree with Dean Daven- port that every man is a better man if he feels the power to earn his way, whether he needs to do it or not. They see the industrious and the efficient doing things and reaping their reward, and choose to do likewise. Probably many of the girls will marry and raise another generation to carry on the world. There are those who wish to become bankers and keep our huge financial system run- ning. There are others who will take their places in the iactories, lumber mills, coal mines, and shipping yards, The glamour of the army and the navy will entice others. Still others will enter the tleld of politics and perhaps one! will become a great national leader.
