Top-quality is A good band is developed by having younger groups prepare themselves for the future. Each day during fifth period, sounds from the training band could be heard as the members worked to attain the same top-quality pos- sessed by the senior high band. As soon as weather the big goal l permitted, members spent time outside with the two drum majors, learning and practicing various marching steps. Officers chosen to head the group were Sheila Noble, President, Steve Hudson, Vice-president, and Bruce Wright, Secretary-Treasurer. Row 3: Coach Painter, Todd Dixon, Ancel Creamer, Gary Kreegar, Tom Klug, Se mour, Mike Henry, Rick Gooding, Mike Blackmon, Bob Row 2: Greg Yust, Tom Cook, Monte Flanders, Dave jones, SCiI1eid6f,T0mmYC0Uf161', Mitchell Blackmfm- Scots unveil hidden potential Hustle overcomes nervous excitement as perfection is stressed. The 1968-69 seventh grade basketball team was a small, yet aggressive group of athletes. Although they were perhaps one of the most overlooked teams, their constant hard work and endless hope kept them spirited through victory and defeat. Doug Painter and Mike Danforth led the young Scots in scoring, which ended in a 4-15 season. Although much improvement was needed, coach Dan Seymour felt that the potential of these young Scots will provide the nucleus of an excel- lent future varsity basketball team. It's not Whether you win or lose, itys how you play the game.

Three records set by Jr. Hi Although the Junior High Football Team registered only three victories, valuable experience was gained through defeat. Victories came over Alexandria, South- side, and Madison Heights under the coaching staff of Mr. Ronald Ruby and Mr. Jim Teeters. Quarterback John Kerr, along with John Campbell, Dennis Brewer, and Tom Castor led the young gridders down the field throughout the year. The Junior High Track Team had a winning season this year with a 6-2 record. Under the direction of Mr. Ronald Ruby, the junior high tracksters captured fourth place in conference competition. Three records were also broken this year: John Campbell, 880 yard run, Dennis Brewer, shot put, and John Kerr, high jump. Three seventh graders also proved to be outstanding and received letters for their accomplishments. JUNIOR HIGH TRACK, ROW 1: Ken Croxton, Dennis Brewer, Randy Cook, Bob Eliason, Dou Painter, Tom Castor, Randy Looper.
