Eighth suffers many setbacks Tension explodes as eighth grade Scots battle with Pirates. In spite of a losing 3-8 season, the eighth grade basket- ball team gained valuable experience under the direction of Mr. Rick Flecker. After a disappointing opener with Pendleton the young Laddies bounced back with a seven point victory over the Frankton Eagles. Determination and enthusiasm were at their greatest as the eighth graders won their second successive game, defeating Lapel by 13 points. Their spirits dropped, however, as they experienced a streak of bad luck, losing to tive strong opponents. Their third and final win came as they defeated Shenandoah by a score of 50 to 44. Leading the eighth grade Scots in overall scoring were Dennis Brewer, john Campbell, and Gary Price. Last minute instructions provide winning tactics. EICHTH GRADE BASKETBALL, Row 1: Mike Krugler, Randy Looper, John Campbell, Mike Hines, Chris Hollon, Dale Grills. Row 2: Coach Flecker, John Kerr, Dennis Brewer, Mike Funk, Gary Price, Rex Baugher, Tom Castor.

The 1968-69 seventh grade basketball team was a small, yet aggressive group of athletes. Although they were perhaps one of the most overlooked teams, their constant hard work and endless hope kept them spirited through victory and defeat. Doug Painter and Mike Danforth led the young Scots in scoring, which ended in a 4-15 season. Although much improvement was needed, coach Dan Seymour felt that the potential of these young Scots will provide the nucleus of an excel- lent future varsity basketball team. It's not Whether you win or lose, itys how you play the game.
