CLASS OF 57 GOES TO NEW YORK CITY At left two senior girls, Dixie Montgomery and Carolyn Mabbitt, are boarding the bus to New York. The Senior Class left for the big city early May 25, 1957. Much time and effort was put forth by each member of the class so that this trip was possible. This trip was long awaited and will be long remem- bered by each person that took this wonderful trip.

STUDENT COUNCIL The purpose of the Student Council is to promote a general understanding between students and faculty, to create a strong school spirit, and to urge high scholastic achieve- ment among the students. The council consists of twelve members--two from each of the six classes. There are two sponsors elected by the faculty. The Student Council makes rules and suggestions concerning social activities, money- making projects, and clubs and organizations. Problems arising among students and fac- ulty are considered by the council. In general the student Council is the governing body of the school which represents the students.
