'Swv X X' as -. , ,I THECANDLE sf, Miss lflarris as coach, producer, designer, dressmaker and milliner gave us her untiring help and the Dramatic Club wishes to express its warmest thanks to her. XYe also want to thank several friends from outside the school for the loan of furniture and dresses that helped to create the impression of the days and the ways of the Napoleonic era. For most valuable help behind the scenes and in the publicity depart- ment, the following girls were made members of the Club: K. Barclay, R. Capers, M. Moyer and M. lYetmore. Other dramatic performances have been given during the year and among these the French plays stand out in memory. Elsewhere an account of this appears. The Lost Elevator was the chief attraction of the Hallowe'en party in the gymnasium and drew into the cast several girls who have since been elected to the club. Qur annual Christmas play, one of the old English Mysteries, was per- formed with suitable music on the Sunday before the breaking-up in Decem- ber. The scenes of the Annunciation, the Manger, the Shepherds, the Magi were most reverently and feelingly shown and the singing by the hidden choir added not a little to the inspiring effect of the whole presentation. 37
