Zeta In September 1900 the Beta Club rnrtlated thrrteen new members They were Darlene Sktpper Delta Touchton Margaret Rrchardson Jo Ann Warner Charles Hern don Sylvra Brown Donna Breazeale Bobbye Duke Evelyn Medlock Mary Carolyn Whrtlock Vern Maddox B1lly Grbson and Bob Palmer The 1n1t1at1on took place durrng the assembly perrod Each rnrtrate wore a baby cap whrch he or she had made and as Beta Mary Elraabeth called a name and stated what to do the rmtrate performed Presrdent Pat called the 1n1t1ates to the stage for the solemn part of the 1n1t1atron after whrch she gave a brref summary of Beta statrng what rt stands for and pledgtng 1n behalf of all the Betas a loyal support to the school Joyce was rnrtrated the last semester Our club donated toward the Beta scholarshrp fund and sponsors the annual The annual staff 1S composed of Pat Ed1tor Everette Assrstaut Ed1tor Mary Carolyn Carolyn Subscrrptron Commrttee Joyce Jo Ann Pat Typrsts Joyce rn charge of snap shot pages Nancy Mary Beth and Faye have helped wrth the prcture pages and Pat Duane and Everette were on the ad eommrttee All have helped get the Boosters Much work has been mvolved but all have enjoyed comprlxng the annual and hope each student w1ll enjoy h1s copy th1s year Last year four Betas attended the State Conventton They were Nancy Mary Beth Wayne and Wrlburn They enjoyed If so much and gave such a good report to the Betas when they came home that many more are planmng to attend th1s year Our Club volunteered to sponsor the Get Acquamted party whtch w1ll be the frrst thlng on the Beta agenda The conventron th1s year w1ll be May 11th and 12th rn Jacksonvllle w1th head quarters at the George Washlngton Hotel where one floor w1ll be reserved The Mayor has promrsed to entertarn the group by takmg them on a PT boat rrde to the Naval Base They w1ll make a tour of the Base and have lunch there The conventton grves a wonderful opporturuty for Betas over the state to get ac quamted and leam what clubs over the state are domg XX tr V GZELEIHI Business Manager, Nancy - Assistant Business Manager, Mary Beth, Edwyn and Mary I x Nl X 2 Q
