'l'O 'l'IIE CLASS OF IANUARY l9-H: 'l'l1is little book may find a place on your shelves with the reference works. It is a who's who-for the present, anyway, of only your high school class. Perhaps you will place it with the biographies: here are some early chapters in your own life and in the lives of your classmates. Or it might stand among the histories. It is the history of 1940-l94+-or at least, you will agree, an important part of that history. XVould you rather include it with your imaginative books? 'l'here are some hundred and ninety characters presented on these pages-heroes and heroines capable of who can tell what prowess and derring-do. Inst now the story of their lives is whatever fancy may record. There may be some revisions in later years. 'l'hen the book may take a place among more sober memoirs. But l hope you will tind the best place for this book to be with your intimate personal belongings-with cherished letters and scrap books and meaningful souvenirs. For its main purpose in years to come will be to recall to you the happy days you spent with your classmates and teachers during your four years at the Iligh School of Music and Art. Sincerely yours, PRINCIPAL 5 r -I
