History of Our School Our school is approximafeiy fwenfy-seven years old. H's fhe resuH of an idea a group of educafors had +ha+ could see info Jrhe fufure. SO. Our school was born. Back in I92I a small group made plans +0 affend school f0 learn prinfing. Af fhaf +ime supplies! space. and equipmen+ were Iimifed af Woodward High School. In I922 our school moved +0 Liber+y and Spring S+ree+s. Here we received +he name of Prinfing Trades School. The name of our school was changed in I925 +0 Prinfing Vocafional High School. Our organizafion coanued +0 grow. Wifh mo-re sfudenfs we moved +0 larger quar+ers, wi+h addii'ional equipment In I928 our school moved +0 4I2 Easf Six+h Sfreef. Again our floor space was Hmi+ed; supplies and equipmenf were inadequafe. Our enroll- menf confinued f0 grow. However. in 1930 Jrhe Board of Educafion purchased our presenf loca+ion. The building was erecfed in 1926 Iror SaHler Prinfing and Engraving Co. This building we now occupy 5+ McMillan Sfreef and Essex Place, Walnu+ Hills. In l94l +he name was again changed +0 The High School of Graphic Ar+s and Prinfing. One can see why our school has grown. Cincinnafi. Ohio, ranks sixfh in fhe counfry in +he wproducfion of commercial prinfing. and ?ourfh in li+hography. On Sepfember 30. I927, +he s+uden+s published +heir firs+ school paper, HThe Apprenhce. under fhe direcfion of Jesse L. Knabb. and Eugene L. Winanse edifors-in-chief and Danfe April, Charles Reusing. Henry Rosenfhal and George Welling, associafe edifors. Our school has graduafed hundreds of successful men over a long period of years. Graduahes are now enioying successful and happy lives as workers and execufives in +he various graphic ar+s indus+ries of Greafer Cincinna+i.
