Back in I92I a small group made plans +0 affend school f0 learn prinfing. Af fhaf +ime supplies! space. and equipmen+ were Iimifed af Woodward High School. In I922 our school moved +0 Liber+y and Spring S+ree+s. Here we received +he name of Prinfing Trades School. The name of our school was changed in I925 +0 Prinfing Vocafional High School. Our organizafion coanued +0 grow. Wifh mo-re sfudenfs we moved +0 larger quar+ers, wi+h addii'ional equipment In I928 our school moved +0 4I2 Easf Six+h Sfreef. Again our floor space was Hmi+ed; supplies and equipmenf were inadequafe. Our enroll- menf confinued f0 grow. However. in 1930 Jrhe Board of Educafion purchased our presenf loca+ion. The building was erecfed in 1926 Iror SaHler Prinfing and Engraving Co. This building we now occupy 5+ McMillan Sfreef and Essex Place, Walnu+ Hills. In l94l +he name was again changed +0 The High School of Graphic Ar+s and Prinfing. One can see why our school has grown. Cincinnafi. Alumni Meet For Banquet Ten Years Of Freedom m The 1958 Alumni Banquet for the graduates of the WEB ciaSS of The High School of Graphic Arts and Printing, was held on June 18. Louis Villari, manager of M.G.Mfs photography studio, acting as chairman, gave the opening address at, which time he presented the guest speak- er, Lawrence' Holste. Lawrence Hoists is the own- er and inventor of the new iiEndless Pressii. This press is guaranteed never to stop, be- cause it wonlt even start. After the speaker had fin- ished, a light lunch was served, of which Shirley Fisher was MUSIC WHILE YUU WORK Nelson Whitt, the countryls greatest conductor, gave a world premiere at Music Hall, Cincinnati, Ohio, of his inven- tion, ilThe Musical Linotypell. This invention will enlight- en the monotonous rhythm of the former linotypes because it plays the atrocious tune, uBurpo Fizz . This continues until a mat fails to drop and then it plays HSlap It Down Again, Whittil. W Baseball Knowledge Fu rthers Career John Vincent, the walking tibaseball statisticsli man, was offered a position as iisports proofreader for AP today. Offers have been made for his services from many lead- ing newspaper associations of the World. Due to his knowl- edrze 06 sports he has ac- cepted this latest offer. in charge. She is known for her great speed as a mono- type keyboard operator. Outstanding a m o n g the guests was R a y m o n d Alli, owner of Lithography, Inc. He stated that he had just bought a chain of theaters as a hobby. Pretty Stinkin' Good Dale Batchler, a camera genius, stated at the Camera- menis Conference, held at the Sinton Hotel, that he had per- fected a camera for capturing the iismellll as well as the picture. He has tried his invention many times on his ranch in Texas, i'Dustyis Dust , and has shown some stinkin, good results at the conference. One member was quoted as saying, uIn the words of the immortal Shakespeare, I quote, ilt stinks. Dale has crossed many fa- mous breeds and developed the famous iiLow Bellyii breed of horses, to be used with roller skates instead of stirrups. WW Editor Announces July 4th Speaker Donald Hilgemeier, editor of the Cincinnati Times-Post, an- nounced that as his special guest for the Fourth of July Party at the Netherland Plaza Ballroom would be Four Star General Verlyn Knabb, of the Marine Corps. e General Knabb is in charge of all the Govemment Printing in the United States. Donald Hilgemeier has just written and published a book for all printers, Burpo Fizz and Type Lice . Wing Fun Chow Appointed President Wing Chow, the worldis fastest pressman, was ap- pointed as president of the Whiz Ding Press Company at its recent board meeting of all plant executives. Wing Chow has recently organized one of the major league's top baseball teams, Screwy Squirrels. He was acting as temporary mana- ger and at the last meeting was elected and sworn in as official manager. What Flavor, Please? Cows give chocolate milk, instead of white, by being fed burnt grass. Willis Hickman who recently wrote uThe Farmers Home Compositor , made this surprising discovery on his 10,000,000 acre ranch in New Mexico. AAA-l Billings Now Showing At Al Bee Paul Lanter, the world's top crooner, will be featured at the R.K.O. A1 Bee Theatre stage show next week. Ber- nard learney Murphy, top- notch comedian, will also be starring. The song that made Paul famous was iiMaIlene, My Love. Paul is active in the print- ing trade as a hobby. He owns and maintains a type-setting establishment. Bernard Murphy owns a large sum of stock from Lith- ography, Inc., which is located in Cincinnati.
