“,..- .....1.. J.---wg. , THE BANTAM GOES TO PRESS Selling Ads Writing Copy Mdkillg DUMIYIY The Bantam goes to press! And the editors and staff members breathe a sigh of relief. The headaches and problems are over for a while. But The Bantam isn't all headaches and problems. Mingled with the hard work and worry are laughs 'and good times. The Bantam workers share many invaluable experiences. They laugh together over almost nothing, mourn together when the deadlines are here and the copy isn't, eat together when they are half-starved and then anything tastes good. ln the winter they freeze in the late afternoons when the furnace is off, in the summer they swelter. But every one enioys it. There's something about newspaper work that gets in your blood and you can't stop even if you haven't time or energy-you find it. The Bantam must go to press! And go to press it does. Sometimes it's a long, slow road that's hard to travel, other times it's as easy as cutting across the corner lot. But somehow, someway, the staff makes the deadline, the presses roll-the Bantam rolls off.
