V , K e MAMLQJ On Our lgoybcf The local chapter ol the Key Club, Kiwanis sponsored international youth organization, continued its unique program ol service to the school, community, and its members, this year under the leadership ol Laurence Wood. The only service club ol its kind in the school, one ol its primary purposes is to mold the character ol the schoolis most outstanding leaders by placing them in contact with the leaders ot the community while pertorming its service proiects. Not only the club but the whole school considers it a great honor that one ol our student body was elected International President tor 1951. ln addition to carrying out their service program, the Key Clubbers played convention hosts to over four hundred fellow members from all over North and South Carolina. Their worlc and interest played an important part in malcing the conven- tion a success, 59

HCJNCJR SOCIETY For the third year since its formation, the Honor Society has tried to promote character, scholarship, leadership, and service at the High School. Among some ol its many serv- ices this year, the Society sold supplies during recess. But the primary aim ol the Honor Society is to promote scholar' ship, so every six vveelcs it presented the Honor Class banner to the class with the highest average ot pupils on the honor roll.
