ALL THOSE FRESHMEN!! The countdown was over. A new chapter had been opened for a number of special young people. As they took their first step on college ground, they immediately became members of the Freshman Class of 1981. This was the start of a new life encompassing a whole new realm of things yet to be experienced. Change, was the key to what lay ahead of them. Learning to cope with this change characterized the week for each new freshman, this period of adjustment was known as Orientation. It introduced the new students to college life in general, the work as well as the fun. The returning of the upperclassmen was an anxious moment for each freshman. In anticipation of their feelings, the administration had planned a picnic to relieve tensions and aquaint new faces. Good food and high spirits broke the ice as friendships began to form. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors listened to freshman problems and secretly recanted their own. They remembered the uniqueness of being a freshman. The newcomers were experiencing a change. Upperclassmen would see it as routine, ' but it would be something new and exciting to all those freshmen.
