De ans TO THE CLASS OF 1962: The world today needs men and women who have learned to think for themselves. The future of democracy is dependent upon the qualities of leadership not only in the political area but in personal relations. My greatest hope is that you have laid the foundations for these qualities here at High Point College. The faculty and administration have tried to create an atmosphere in class and on the campus which fosters student participation and social growth. As your Dean, I am proud of the many ad- vancements you students have made these four years. If you carry through into your careers and lives the same enthusiasm and understanding of the problems of others that you have shown here, you will live useful lives and make a contribution to society from which all your associates may benefit.
