The mind ' s eye sees the campus green; The mind ' s ear hears a sound serene . . . The familiar silver singing of the chimes drifts across the spacious campus lawns as students saunter through the dusk in groups and pairs. The sight and sounds of the campus, our homc-for-four-years, will be a memory locked in our hearts. The rapid bidding in a student center bridge game, the high-pitched yell of a Panther fan, the gay call of Thirty-All from the tennis courts ... the lyrics differ; the melody is the same. In the reverent stillness of the chapel we bow our heads in a wordless supplication, and our hearts are locked together in the unity of our common prayer, our common quest. Committee meetings . . . club activities . . . not, as some charge, another type of recrea- tion for students, but another form of learning, the basis of the student life— the process by which High Point College builds good citizens for tomorrow.
