Matt Farris Freddie Valenzuela we came, we saw, we conquered! Arba Word Matt Mann Hugh Landers Doug Hardison Shannon Ridgway We came — There were times when it looked like we wouldn’t have enough to suit out a team. Matt Farris got his shoulder hurt — Matt Mann was playing hurt — we only had eight players to begin with. But we came to every game and we surprised a lot of people with our playing! We saw — We saw that a lot of schools were count- ing us out of the competition this year. We were young (no seniors, one junior, four sophomores, and three freshmen). We were few in numbers with only two subs standing on the sidelines. We weren’t as fast as last year, but — We conquered! Hard hitting! Gutsy running! Persistence! Pride! Determination! All eight players and two coaches believed they could win and they did! Miami, a bitter rival fell before the Coyotes! The Homecoming game with Pat- ton Springs was a successful win because the Coyotes kept fighting. Half the team made the All-District team. Success isn’t always measured in points! THIS TEAM WAS A WINNER! 9
