Wilma Beebe Huldrich Koch Carlene Freeman Ray Koch Andrew Morris Joann Stucker Darle Sell Clydeen Mitchell Dale Litchfield HISTORY Most of our history started in about 1936, when our parents had a great shock!!! 1 Then in 1941 most of us met in the great Higgins Grade School. Some were trouble makers and some weren’t, some learned and some didn't, but all in all, believe it or not, we made it to this great year of '54, when we will at last get out of Prison (Higgins High, no less)!! Those who started in the first gradeand graduating this year are Nancy Peugh, Dale Litchfield, Joann Stucker. Opal Thompson, Ray Koch and Denny Carmichael. Darle Sell added his laughs and jokes in the 2nd grade. Duane Kernes added his mischievousness in the 3rd grade. Huldrich Koch added his intelligence in the 4th grade, and Andrew Morris added his noisiness in the 6th grade. Wilma Beebe joined us in the 10th grade and Thelma Gifford in the 11th grade. In the 9th grade Clydeen Mitchell came but left and returned in the 12th grade. Daisy Cook and Carlene Freeman joined us Beetle Brains in the Senior year. The patient sufferers of this period were: Mrs. Slack, Miss Word, Miss Rauh, Mrs. Hicks, Mrs. Kitchen, Mrs. Keen, Mrs. Brown, Mr. G. Gourley, Mrs. Jenkins, Mr. C. Gourley, Mr. Hunter, Mr. Shaw, Mrs. Stobaugh, Mr. Crockett, Mr. Harp, Mrs. German, Mr. Hurn, Mr. Knight, Mrs. Mixson, Mr. Detrixhe and Mrs. Davis. Our history is not over. Look us up in 1968and see what characterswe have turned out to be!!! WQ4 -w CLASS WILL We, the seniors of '54 being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this to be our Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking any and all wills heretofore made by us. Clydeen wills her love of school to Mr. Gourley and her ability to catch a man to Sharon Pinegar who never has a boyfriend. Opal wills her ability to write Love Letters in study hall and never get caught to Shirley Forbau who could use some knowledge of the Know How. Carlene wills her ability to skip last hour study hall period to eat to RoxieLee Vauter who wouldn't do such a thing, without a chance. Nancy wills her ability to take a sudden interest in the Methodist Church and to do typing for two to Mary Bussard who is now interested in Ronald Steinle instead of Preacher Jackson. Thelma hasn't anything to will now as Roger has suddenly taken an interest in her younger sister, and she is living in hopes—. Daisy wills her ability to change schools and get out at the semester to Max Wassenmiller who will need to change schools so as to get out by the time Robert graduates. Wilma wills her ability to talk back to the teachers, and also to gripe and boss everyone around and prance down the hall to show off to Jolene Babitzke who never does anything but act like an angel, Ha. Denny doesn't want to will anything as he may be here next year and will need everything that he has, but will leave the junk closet to Lee Wayne Brown if he doesn't come back. Huldrich wills his ability to go to sleep in class and dream about Nelda to Floyd Steinle who is so studious and never thinks about GIRLS. Duane wills his ability to crack and eat nuts in English class and let Dale get the blame for it to Chas. Gourley who hasn't got the nerve as Paw is boss. Darle wills his ability to talk to people all the time to Jack Jones so he won't have to talk to him- self so much. Ray wills his ability to peek on treasure hunts and flunk the Six Weeks to Dean Kock who wouldn't think of doing such a thing. Dale wills his ability to call Canadian free and skip schoolto see you know who, to Bobby Joe Wil- liamson who will have to find an out of town girl to date as Jimmy Page takes care of the surplus supply of the girls here. Joann wills her ability to get married and keep up her home work and never having her lessons but finishing school to Marilyn Hunter who won't ever be a senior of Higgins High, if she continues with Duane Kernes. We, the seniors will the worry of the annual to the juniors in hopes they can do better. CLASS PROPHECY I like reunions. The class of 1954 held one in Higgins in 1964. A lot happened in those 10 years_ I found several classmates that looked worse than I did. Some of the class looked mighty old, fat, and some pretty run down. You surely remember old Darle. He couldn't diagram a sentence, didn't know an adverb from church. Ann used tosay he'dprobably grow up to be afair posthole digger, but now is digging uranium and owns Higgins' Bank. The timid little woman I didn't recognize turned out to be Clydeen. It seemed she had wasted so much energy giggling, talking, and running around, that she had been under a doctor's care for years. No wonder, being a teacher of her 17 kids. The fellow with 4 chins turned out to be Denny. He's president of the Visiphone Association now, that enables you to see the person you’re talking to on the phone, and has made millions. And do you remember Nancy, the musician of the class? Maybe you can't tell which is she, she is the one on the right, the other object is the piano. She won’t weigh a pound over 330. She takesher own piano to her talent shows for personal appearances. Everyone remembers Thelma as the class cut-up. Today she is the settled, precise leader of society in Washington, D.C. One that will never be forgotten of the class is Opal. She hobnobs with the big bugs in Washington, and is their favorite lady barber but has one male on her mind. She married S. D. We hear through society that Ray has become dog catcher at Podunk. With the help of Shirlene they run a home for stray dogs. Carlene, the little spit fire who never could quite make up her mind just whom she liked, finally decided, after her 10th engagement, to marry Dale. They have made a fortune milking cows. Now they look seedy driving a car Dale bought from B. C. Hum in 1954. We began to wonder where our classmate, Huldrich, and Nelda had located. He soon drove up in a Cadillac; he is doing detective work with the U. S. Gov. in Washington, D. C., and has 2 children and 3 lap dogs. As we toured the town of Higgins, we noticed a sign: Wassenmiller and Stucker Grocery. Joann and Francis, her husband, are co-ownersof the former Slack and Wassenmiller Store with Wassenmiller. To our surprise we noticed a very aristocratic individual coming to our 1964 banquet. A minute interview revealed Wilma - disappointed twice in matrimony - taking her vengeance as an old maid on society. Dr. Beebe is head of the English Department of Higgins College. C. E. Gourley, superintendent and coach, of '54, was unable to attend the reunion due to the fact that after all these years of hoping, he had finally taken a basketball team to State. They won, and the shock was so great that he was recuperating in the new hospital. As we continue down the street we see Mr. Knight with his first granddaughter. The smile on his face was quite different from the smile when he was giving the Seniors English exams. He looked like the new proud father, instead of Harold, Jr. As we counted all of our classmates, we found out that we hadn't seen Duane. We waited for several minutes before we saw him in a '64 Ford driving in from the Booster Station. He is happily married to Maralyn and they have twin boysi Just starting, he said.
