Looking back over the years time has passed so quickly. It seems like just yesterday that our first of four years began at Hidden Valley. We remember everything so clearly: it is as if each event that has taken place has been so recent that no time sequence can be established because everything seems to have run together. During our sixth grade year things were so puzzling and scary, yet interesting. We can remember thoughts and feelings of finally being part of something other than the baby routines of our former elemen- tary schools . ' When our second year rolled around, having adjusted we felt that we actually did belong. All of the strange new interests and ideas started to sink in and the road ahead , that we were to follow , seemed clear. In eighth grade thoughts of leaving many of our close friends who were made over the school years brought many sad feelings. Thinking it was our last year, we tried to make the most of it, but annexation and the changing of Hidden Valley to a Ir. High School upset our plans. Here we are again in our fourth year. Knowing that this is our last , we are making plans to go on into our individual high schools. This year was filled with many firsts. Hidden Valley added football, wrestling, and track teams to its other sports, along with several new academics. Probably, the thing that will be remembered the most about this 1976-1977 school year is the winter. Its snow caused the school to be closed eight days and its severity caused a gas shortage and the closing of school for an additional two days. Now that the time for leaving has finally come, we would like to thank everyone on the staff for their hard work and participation which went into creating this annual. There is one person in particular that we would like to thank, our Advisor, Mr. Robert Cutrara. For his moral support and long hours spent working with us trying to help develop our ideas and teach us what goes into the production of an annual for two years now we have had the priv- ilege of working under his guidance . Some days he probably feels that we would have been better off stay- ing at home . But then on others, things really seem to get accomplished and fall into place. Without him, none of this would have been possi- ble. As this, our ninth grade year, comes to a close there are feelings of self-confidence and accomplishment gained at Hidden Valley that will be taken with us perhaps only as memories as we go our separate ways! 49 .
