Drama Department Produces Musical The Drama Department of Hicksville High School pre¬ sented Roger’s and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music on September 16th, 17th, and 18th in the High School Gym. Directed by Mrs. Alice Longsworth this play takes place in Austria, in 1938, during the Nazi Anschluss. Maria Rainer, a postulant at Nannberg Abbey is sent by Mother Abbess to be a governess to the seven motherless Van Trapp children. There she falls in love with and marries the father of the children, Captain Van Trapp. After the marriage, the family is harrassed by German Storm Troopers who are invading their country. Part of the cast appeared on the Ann Colone Show on September 15th. Homecoming Court Hicksville Aces beat the Wayne Trace Raiders 48 to 0 during the Homecoming game on October 27th. Highlighting the rainy evening was the court and escorts.
