Behind the Scenes Custodian Alvin Beardsley samples some of the delicious food that the cooks, Pauline Haver, Virginia Surque, Jean Bergman, and Mable Beams are preparing at the elementary school. Not pictured, Roy Bauer and Russel Meyer, along with Alvin Beardsley, always have ready smiles for students. When there is something to be repaired, our able custodians are “on of the job.” Good meals promote good thinking. The well-balanced diet that our cooks offer is en¬ joyed by many of the students each noon. Jovial Claudine Burlingame and Leona Hostet¬ ler brighten the faces of students and teachers alike. FIRST ROW: Ralph Smith, Dwight Burlingame, Ralph Morhart. SECOND ROW: William Camp, Bob Weber, Kenneth Thiel. Our bus drivers have a serious responsibility each day of the school year—keeping their buses in good condition and transporting the students safely.

Problems Efficiently Our office is the hub of all school activities. Office responsibilities in¬ clude keeping all financial records, checking attendance, scheduling ath¬ letic events, ordering and handling all films used by teachers, recording grades and informing the community about all school affairs. Mrs. Thiel is proud of her capable office girls. Since there is so much to do in a school office, student assist¬ ants are necessary. They type, file, make duplicate copies of important notices, and check attendance. The office girls receive one-half credit for their services. Working in the office gives the girls actual secretarial prac¬ tice which proves to be valuable to them in seeking a job after graduation. Delores Osmun, Janet Massie, Linda Hilbert, Phyllis Sweeney, Shirley Little, Mrs. Lura Thiel (school secretary), Barbara Arnold, and Sharon Tustison form this year’s efficient office staff.

Highlights of every school year are the festive occasions that help to break the monotony of daily routine. Homecoming is first with the floats and roval court. All ■ students participate in creating team spirit by cheering the various athletic teams on to victory. Coronation ranks highest in students’ minds for it is filled with colorful scenery, lights, dancing, singing, and the awarding of honors to the court. The year is rounded out by special programs pre¬ sented by the music department, class plays, and the Jr. Sr. Prom. The year is ended with the seniors’ bidding farewell at commencement. Thus, the year is packed with many activities to provide happy memories for years to come. $ . -4 f % iy. t A ? ' ■ Mi 1 ■ M v ' i ' 1 ff » auraM A ■«
