These three stu¬ dents realize that knowing how to keep financial records and handle business transactions will be valuable in later life. for Vocations Washing and ironing are two skills which are an essential part of homemaking. Dale Coon and Jim Morhart give instructions to Tim Betts as he welds a broken object in Industrial Arts III class. Welding is just one of the many useful skills learned in this course. “You must be exact,” says Phillip Wonderly to Larry Payton, who is drawing plans for a machine arbor. Howard Biasing is drawing a left-handed acme thread in a right-handed national fine. Mechanical drawing is an important phase of Industrial Arts III. Three members of the faculty arrive early to prepare for the day’s events. Mrs. Mil¬ ler, home economics teacher and F.H.A. advisor will get the kitchen in order for her first class. Mrs. Culler, who teaches commercial subjects along with being ad¬ visor for Hixonian and F.B.L.A., will be correcting layouts and proofreading write¬ ups for the yearbook. Appreciation of Art, and Character for Living Mrs. Rosemary McKeen is instructor of physical education, health, civics, and Ohio History. She points out to Mr. Keith Biler, director of the senior band and high school chorus, that the grade book is not funny. He doesn’t seem to get the message. To keep trim and fit, physical education stu¬ dents do exercises. Cindy Osmun and Twyla Snyder are going through an arm warm-up which strengthens arms and gives muscles tone. Jr. High students, with the capable instruction of Miss Mary Jane Coon, have learned the appreciation and fundamentals of music. Miss Coon strives to impress upon her pupils how important music is and has always been to all peoples of the world. Carol Smitley, Jim Handy, Craig Andrews, and Bill Sabo study about the brass instruments with the capable instruction of Miss Coon.
