HOFMEISTER MARIETTA STEMEN WILLIAM CLELAND, SR. Members of the Hicksville School Board have devoted many hours, without pay, to attending to the problems of the schools of Hicksville. Much of their time is consumed in appointing a com- petent administration and staff for the school besides working with educational policies and school problems. A program was developed this year to invite groups of teachers to board meetings to have them explain to the board the functions of various departments throughout the school. In this way, each member became better acquainted with the daily operation of the school program. me ii JA me Our superintendent, Mr. Normand jones, brings to his position many years of experience. Skilled in coping with problems of teachers and students, Mr. jones shows a deep under- standing of the needs of our school and strives to broaden the educational opportunities of the youth of Hicksville. His pleasing personality and his business abilities combine to form the basis for an efficiently supervised and operated school.
