Polished oncerts Versatility and variety made for a musically successful year. Bands, choruses, orchestra, and recreational groups delighted audiences With per- formances of Works ranging from early Renais- sance to contemporary music. In addition to the traditional Winter and spring concerts, the Hicksville High School Band and Chorale entertained young musicians through- out the district With selections from their reper- toire. A special guest performance at Portchester, N. Y., highlighted the busy concert season of the band. Of great appeal to all ages were the Recrea- tion folk concerts, under the supervision of Mr. Arnold. Singers offered contemporary and tradi- tional songs, along vvith many original ones. Ac- companiment ranged frorn the JeW's harp and Wash tub to the traditional guitar and banjo, add- ing to the success of the folk singers. hristmas Spirit, Familiar Faces, Steve Goldstein, Class of '66, re- turned to HHS stage in the Tri-M sponsored alumni concert. No one was left off Santa's listg Mr. Jones gets his fa present, that isj. 154 w... , Hicksville High School alumni returned for the annual Senior-Alumni Day, December 22, the last day of school before the Winter Recess. The alumni came in throughout the day, reg- istered in the front lobby, and received visitors passes. Over one hundred fifty alumni returned, the majority from the classes of '65 and '66, At 1:30 the Seniors were dismissed from classes, and the seniors and alumni both Went to the boys' gym for the traditional alumni proceed- ings. The group was first addressed by Senior Class President Brian McMenamin Who intro- duced Mr. Rusch. Mr. Rusch welcomed the alumni and expressed his hopes for this year's senior class. Brian then returned to present the traditional gifts to members of the faculty with the assistance of Santa Claus Rick Kramer. Among the humor- ous gifts given were an enormous button reading Down With Buttons for button-lover Mr. Mc- Carty, a bottle of Four Roses for Mr. Shanley, a bottle of Weight-On for Mr. Masi, and big Wide eyeglass frames for Mr. Munch. After the gifts were presented, a rock 'n roll band began to play, but few danced. Most pre- ferred to talk to their old friends and former teachers once more. f-fcfvfffw-4,4137 .f ' , f,,',,.
