Our Principal TO THE CLASS OF 1956: As 1 see it, your high school has a heritage, which you should cherish, the high school’s insistence upon sound scholarship, excellent moral character and its devotion to truth, is a challenge to all its graduates. Young people must be inspired to live lives in accordance with high moral and spiritual standards A belief in God helps to provide the individual with the comfort, fortitude, faith and security which are needed to accept life’s challenges. My few lines in your year book are concerned with your heritage in terms of the life of each of the graduates of the Class of 1956. If American vouth have integrity, excellent moral character, a vision, and a belief in God, we need have no fear for the future. There is a striking relation- ship between the progress of a nation and the vision of its leaders. The diploma you will receive represents the heritage of Hicksville High School. Some of you will find your places in scientific and business fields. We wish you well in your work toward the material prosperity of the nation. Some of you will follow careers in the fields of the humanities, of law, of medicine, of nursing, of teaching of the social sciences, of the ministry. You will have your opportunity to make your lives count. It is my sincere wish that your high school training will aid you in having a vision and in meet- ing the many challenges which lie ahead for the Class of 1956. Mabel R. Farley Principal
